STORY BEHIND GIRLS LEAVE A MARK (GLAM)

“They said we wouldn’t make it. We proved them wrong—together.”

Girls Leave A Mark wasn’t born in a moment of ease—it was born in a storm.

It came from the pain of a little girl who was molested and told to keep quiet. From the ache of a teenage mother navigating high school halls with a swollen belly and a heart full of questions. From the desperation of eviction notices, food stamps, sleeping in cars, and wondering if her babies would ever have the life she dreamed of for them.

Our founder, Simone McFarlane-Tucker, was that girl. At 16, she became a mother. At 19, she had two children and was already being counted out by a world that thought her story ended the moment she gave birth. But what they didn’t count on—was her fire. And what they didn’t see—was the support of a mother who stood beside her and believed in her, even when everything else was falling apart.

Despite the trauma. Despite the odds. Despite the shame she carried in silence—Simone graduated high school.
And though life would delay her dreams, it would never destroy them.

Fourteen years later, Simone walked across the stage with her college degree in hand.

Then came her Bachelor’s in Business, then her Master’s in Business Management and Leadership. And now? She’s the proud founder of Glamour Tag Consulting, working alongside her daughter, Kira McFarlane—the very baby she was told would “ruin her life.” Together, mother and daughter now build lives.

The same two children people whispered would “never amount to anything”?

They graduated high school with honors—and are both taking college classes.

So when Simone created Girls Leave A Mark, it wasn’t from a place of pity—it was from a place of purpose.
It’s not just an organization—it’s a rebellion against every system, stereotype, and statistic that told young mothers and at-risk youth they didn’t belong. It’s a safe space, a sisterhood, and a springboard for the girl who’s been hurt, silenced, ignored—but still has fire in her.

We pour into teen moms and youth with life skills, financial literacy, career readiness, mental health support, hygiene and clothing resources, and most importantly—belonging. We remind them: your story didn’t disqualify you. It qualified you for greater.

At Girls Leave A Mark, we don’t just help them survive.
We equip them to lead. To heal. To build. To leave a legacy of their own.

So if you’ve ever asked yourself, “Where can I make a real difference?”

Right here is your answer.

Because when you invest in a girl—especially one the world tried to count out—
you don’t just change her life.

You change generations.

And when she rises?
She doesn’t just survive.

She leaves a mark.

GLAM MISSION

Our mission at Girls Leave a Mark is to empower young women ages 13–24—especially teenage mothers and at-risk youth—to break free from generational cycles of poverty, trauma, and limitation.

We are committed to equipping them with the tools, mentorship, education, and support they need to not only survive, but to lead, thrive, and rewrite their stories with purpose.

By nurturing self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and emotional resilience, we help young women build stronger families, cultivate healthy relationships, and repair generational bonds—laying the groundwork for empowered communities and lasting legacies.

GLAM VISION

We envision a world where every young woman—regardless of her circumstances—is seen, supported, and unstoppable. A future where teenage mothers and at-risk youth rise as leaders, healers, and legacy-builders.

Through community, courage, and compassion, we see generational cycles shattered and rewritten with purpose. We dream of neighborhoods restored by confident daughters, resilient sisters, and visionary mothers—who leave marks not of survival, but of greatness.

At Girls Leave A Mark, we don’t just dream of change—we raise the changemakers.
